1.1 Overview

Capacitor start motors use two capacitors: a starting capacitor and a run capacitor. The starting capacitor is mainly used to increase the starting torque of the motor, that is, the starting coil of the motor is energized when starting and cut off after starting; while the running capacitor allows the motor to play the role of capacitance compensation during operation, and it always accompanies the motor to run. The main function is to balance the electromagnetic relationship between the main winding and the secondary winding of the motor to maximize the power of the motor and reduce noise and vibration.

1. The main function of the starting capacitor is to provide a larger current when the motor starts to help the motor start quickly. When the motor reaches about 75% of the rated speed, the starting capacitor is disconnected from the starting winding of the motor by a disconnection device.
